To be honest, every day at Mobility International USA is International Day of Disabled Persons. Our mission is to advance disability rights and leadership globally, and we're doing that in many ways.
Our RightsNow! project is working in many countries to work with disability activists and governments to enforce the legislation and policy that will protect people with disabilities.
Our WILD program is engaging disabled women activists around the world, enhancing their leadership skills and having WILD programs happen all over the world in more than 20 different countries so disabled women take their rightful place as leaders in the disability rights, human rights, and women's movements.
Our other projects are building the pipeline of people with disabilities so we can take our rightful place as citizen diplomats. And our high school program is ensuring that disabled young people from around the world have the same opportunities to study in the United States and also become leaders.
I want to recognize those organizations who have really stepped up and added inclusion as one of their highest priorities, and I also want to thank some of our funders like the State Department, USAID, other foundations who have also really recognized the importance of including people with disabilities.
I also want to thank the disability rights activists around the world who are working passionately every day to change the lives of millions of disabled people around the world so we can have the same rights as our non-disabled peers.
And finally I want to encourage all of us to celebrate our successes for what we have already accomplished, but not to lose sight of everything that still needs to be done.
