Welcome to the advising module of the International Education professional pathway. Sometimes supporting participants with disabilities involves outlays of time and resources, but sometimes it’s just about being a reliable source of accurate information. Participants with disabilities may be facing a situation in which they will need to know how to travel with medications, obtain the necessary paperwork for a service animal or obtain health coverage for a pre-existing condition. They may be aware of this, and not expecting you to know. They may also not realize that they need to be considering these things. The following modules cover key foundational concepts of advising such as respectful language, before going on to what advisors and participants should know.
